Terry Pratchett (A.K.A: PTerry, Himself or OFH [=Old Fart in a Hat]) was born in 1948 and is still not dead.

He lives in Wiltshire, UK. and was honored with an OBE (Order of the British Empire - a step or two down from being knighted).

Himself wrote over 20 books and created at least one world supported on the back of a giant turtle.

If you haven't read a book by PTerry, I'd recommend starting at the beginning and read "The Color of Magic".
